So Incredibly Proud!

I just wanted to take a minute to brag on my big girl. I have to say that I have been really worried about her (and her sisters) starting this new, much bigger school this year and how it would affect them. Not to mention, starting over brand new while Daddy is working in Jackson. Now, I will tell you that the weeks are hectic and full of drama, temper tantrums, and yelling, yes folks, we all yell around here, but Reese has just taken to school like gangbusters.

She brought home her report card about a week or two ago, and she had all A's, even in math. A subject that I struggled with in school, and if you ask Warren, I still struggle with it. I'd much rather conjugate a verb and tell you the parts of speech/job of every word in a sentence. Yes, I am that English major nerd. Use your/you're or two/to/too incorrectly, and I cringe!

Anyway, back to Reese. The lowest grade on her report card was a 98!!! I was so overcome with joy and pride for her (not that I'm not proud of her anyway), but her hard work and effort just made the joy overflow. And last week, she brought home a blue ribbon for her academic success. She comes home everyday from school, hangs her backpack on the hook on the wall, gets out her folder and begins her homework--like immediately. I don't have to ask her to get it started; she just does it. Now, if we could get her to be more patient with her sisters and not make such a mess throughout the house---we'd be golden!!

Anyway, if this blog is still around in the years to come, I hope Reese will read it and know how thrilling it was for her mama to see her very first "real" report card loaded with A's. You are my precious big girl and I am so blessed to be your mama!!!!

MSU VOLLEYBALL!

We have recently discovered the excitement of going to State's volleyball games. We love football, but as many of you know, those tickets can be kinda pricey. Plus, when you're buying for five, well, doing the football thing would most definitely put a hurtin' on our pockets.

sportin' their new MSU duds!

me & my twink-os!

Warren found out that there is no charge for attending the volleyball games. While part of me thinks that that is a huge bummer for that particular sports program, the frugal, not wanting to spend huge amounts of money part of me loves this!!!

almost a family shot....we needed someone to take the picture! ;)

silly Mags

Our girls loved the game, and so did Warren and I. I didn't realize it would be so exciting. It's very fast paced, which I like; there's not much if any down time for the players. It reminds me of being at home! :) The pictures on this post are from a game we attended on a Friday night. The girls had no, and I mean NO MSU attire, so off to Barnes & Noble we went. I love that place!!! The girls chose the shirts they are sporting in the pics, and this turned out to be a great buy because the following Thursday at school was 'wear your team colors' day!

precious girls!

We also went to a game the following Sunday afternoon. This game was a great one because they had a BINGO game that went along with the match. There was a bingo card printed on the backs of the programs, and periodically through the match a number would be held up. We got really excited during the second and final 'black out' game because Reese only had two numbers left; if she got those two numbers, she would have won a blu-ray player. Sadly, I believe that the girls have inherited their mama's gene for being the unluckiest person in the
world! Reese's last two numbers were never called. But, there is another match on Sunday in a couple of weeks, and they are gonna have bingo again. And you can bet that all five Mannings will be playing next time.....Go State!
