They're A Day Early

Since Warren is off work tomorrow, I plan on working out at the Y AND doing some MAJOR house cleaning, so I really don't foresee too much blogging time tomorrow. So..........

I'm sending out birthday wishes today to my college roommate, Keri! She is celebrating her b'day tomorrow!!!!!! I haven't seen her in FOREVER (which, by the way, Keri, if you're reading this, we need to remedy that fact NOW. And we need to get Emily in on the meeting, too!) As rommates go, she was the BEST!!!! And, from her persepective, I was probably the worst! Seriously, Keri was an early to bed and early to rise kinda girl; I liked to sleep in late and stay up late. So different, but I like to think we got a long very well. At that time, I also liked keeping the TV on while going to sleep, which I'm sure drove her crazy, but she never got mad at me for it! I don't think we ever got mad at each other about much of anything. It was a great three years on the ol' Phi Mu hall!!

Keri, I hope you have a great day tomorrow! Warren, the girls and I love you lots!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

AND.....

Our brother in law, Mitch, celebrates his birthday tomorrow too, so we can't leave him out!!!! I had a picture of him somewhere, but I can't seem to find it right now. Plus, knowing Mitch, he would definitely NOT like the idea of his picture on the 'net!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MITCH!!!

Have a great one!

Some Blog Therapy

You'll notice that I've made several posts in the last little bit. I'm calling it 'Mommy's Blog Therapy.' The girls have been kinda "tookey" for the last few minutes, and I just decided to escape for a little bit! This blog is my retreat, if you will. Keeps me connected to 'the outside.' :)

Enjoy the pictures below; I have some really fun ones from out time outside in the yard yesterday but haven't downloaded them yet. Will do so soon!!!

In other news.......

Reese had her picture taken today at school with a real bunny rabbit!!!!! It was just a quck one shot kinda deal, but I wanted her to do it if she wanted. I was really unsure if she would actually have the picture taken with a REAL rabbit, but she did! She did really really well; I was very proud (just like I am of her always!). I think the reason she did so well is because someone other than her picture crazy mama was taking the picture and she felt like being nice to him instead of driving him to insanity like she does me when trying to have a photo shoot. The set up was really nice--a white wrought iron bench with some flowers in front and the dogwood trees blooming in the background (at least, I hope the camera was set up so that the dogwoods were in the back) and a little white easter basket that held the bunny. I would like to have seen what she might have done had the photographer asked her to hold the bunny; she probably would have had a fit!!! She was so excited about the bunny though; her eyes just lit up when she sat down on the bench next to him. So sweet!!! I cannot WAIT to see them!!!! Will share as soon as we get it back!

Reese has also been cracking me up lately! The other day, she was playing in the living room. She had her baby doll in one arm, her purse on the other, and she had gotten one of my robe sashes and had tied that around one of her stuffed puppy dogs and was using the sash as a leash. I think she was pretending like she was shopping. Anyway, I stood there and watched her for a second, then she looked over her shoulder and said, "Come on Husband. Let's go!" HILARIOUS!!!!!!

She wasn't too sure about the whole husband thing until several weeks ago. We were out having lunch, all five of us (which I am positive that most restaurants want to lock the doors when they see all of us coming!), and we were seated at a table next to a couple who weer probably in their fifties. The man was gray headed and very nice looking and his wife was very attrative as well. They both talked about how cute the girls were, so we obviously liked them a lot! :) Anyway, the man got up from his chair to go pay the bill and Reese looks at me and the woman and says, "Where did her daddy go?" Sort of embarrassing and hysterical at the same time. I guess she thought that since he was a man that he was her daddy! The lady thought it was funny, I think, because when her husband came back to the table, she immediately told him what Reese had said. He smiled and laughed--very nice folks!!! So, this incident led the discussion of what a husband is. All she had known up to that point was her daddy, but she obviously has caught on!

More later....the therapy must end for now.....hungry babes are calling!!!

Looks like we're going to have to get Maggie and Anna a powerwheel sometime in the near future. This Barbie jeep was given to us by some friends, whose little girl had outgrown it. Reese loves driving it around the backyard, although her steering leave A LOT to be desired. But, here lately, the twins have really enjoyed driving it, too. Usually, they have to take turns while Reese is riding them around, but when she moves onto other things, the twins waste no time in seizing the opportunity to drive themselves. Note: Anna is in the driver's seat; usually she acts like the baby sister (even though she's a whole minute older than Maggie). She just took over the driving that day! Hope she doesn't think this will work when they're 16; bless their hearts, they'll have to share a car once Reese goes to college, and they'll have to take turns at the wheel.

I can't believe that I just wrote a sentence talking about my big girl being in college and the other two being old enough to drive. Gracious!!! Can you say......"Time to get a job, girls!" :)

ready to get out!

Mommy in Training

Maggie was too sweet the other night--she decided that she needed to rock her baby to sleep. (Only wish she and Anna were as cooperative about bedtime as baby always is!) She was even singing "Bye Baby Bunting." I've got to get that on video sometime so you can hear her. Precious! Anna sings it, too, but what really gets me is when Reese sings it to her sisters when they are upset. Most days, they do bicker and fight like all siblings, which I guess is something that we're just gonna have to deal with, but they really do love each other and are very affectionate towards one another---that is, when they feel like it. But, hey, who feels like being all huggy huggy all the time anyway?

Love her giving her baby some night night kisses!!

Sweet Big Sissy

Reese was such a sweet girl while playing outside yesterday. She saw that Anna had gotten into the wagon and wanted somebody to pull her. When the babies get in the wagon and they want somebody to ride them around, they point to the handle and say 'wee.' Wee has become their word for 'go.' They know that when we get in the car we are going somewhere, and they immediately begin yelling 'weeeeeeee.' Anyway, Warren started to pull Anna, but Reese wanted to instead. I don't think she realized what a 'chore' it would be; she didn't realize how 'heavy' ol' Nanner Cream has gotten! Her expressions in these pics are too funny; looks like she's really working hard on pulling baby sister around the backyard. Love all my girls so much!!!

Anna and her Sweet BaBoo

Warren took these a couple of weeks ago at my grandmother's while we were all there having lunch. Rich and Angela have a minature dachsund named Delta, and the puppy was there, too. Anna & Maggie love 'bobos' (their name for dogs--really any animal), but they really like them from a far. They're not too sure about them being too close. And, Delta is still a puppy, so she is really quick and lively which makes the babies even more nervous. Anyway, I just LOVE these shots of Anna and Rich. I'm sure he's going to love everyone in blog land knowing that he's called sweet Baboo, but I can't think of him in any other way now.

The origin of Baboo:
Well, when Rich was younger, I used to call him Bubbey. My dad was called 'Bubba' by the many kids who he helped coach at my high school; Rich was then forever known as 'Little Bubba.' And one day, I just decided to start calling him Bubbey! I don't think he likes/liked it that much, but that's my right as a big sister----to make him mad! :) When Reese was born, I wanted him to have a name--you know, go by something other than Uncle Rich. I tried to get her to call him Bubbey, but when she really started talking, Bubbey came out as BaBoo.....and what d'ya know, it stuck!!! And Warren always refers to him as the girls' Sweet BaBoo....you know, the way Sally refers to Linus in the Peanuts cartoons! So sweet!! We love him bunches!!!! He is a great uncle and he loves my girls so much. And they truly love him!!! He was living with us during the summer we found out we were pregnant with Reese. He was attending summer school, and we told him he could stay with us instead of the dorm. Anyway, he saw our first ultrasound and started calling Reese 'Peanut' right then, and he still does. When he found out about the twins, he had to give them a name of their own, too. They're known to BaBoo as 'Cashew' and 'Almond.' Isn't that sweet (and funny, too)?

WE LOVE YOU BABOO!! YOU'RE THE BEST (AND PROBABLY ONLY) BABOO IN THE WORLD!!!!

Love you,
Peanut, Cashew & Almond

**this one is by far my favorite of the three!! looks like they're sharing a big secret**

Just-A-Swangin'

The good Lord gave us another BEAUTIFUL day today, and we took advantage of it!!!! The girls LOVE playing outside; I love it, too, because it wears them out and naps are a whole lot easier to come by after they've run around the yard like crazy! We were so glad that Daddy had another day off today so that he could push us in the swings. I know he enjoyed it, too. It was so sweet hearing them say 'weeeeeeee' while they were going back and forth. I cherish moments like these--seeing my girls having so much fun with their Daddy and their Daddy being equally excited by being with his girls. God truly has blessed me with a wonderful family and I couldn't be more grateful to Him for this most special gift. I don't know what I'd do or who I would be without the four of them. I know God really must have something special planned for Warren, seeing as how he will be putting up with three teenage girls and a mama who gets pretty emotional herself for the rest of his life! :)

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

It will be a LONG time until I am able to get a good picture of the three girls together. Now that Maggie & Anna are older and so much bigger, they do NOT like sitting still for anything..much less getting their pictures taken. These were my attempts to get a St. Patty's Day picture of all of them. I was so proud of their Old Navy shirts....I got them for $3.50 a piece and my intentions were to take a good picture of the three of them and make St. Patty's Day cards to send out to immediate family. Well, as you can see from these, and considering that today is St. Patrick's Day and our families don't have cards......my well intended intentions didn't come to be! What can I say? I tried! I just don't have the most cooperative subjects anymore. Reese does know to cooperate, but she doesn't which frustrates me to no end because I KNOW she knows how to sit still and look at the camera. In my defense, Warren was working while I was playing photographer, so he wasn't around to 'entertain' the girls while they sat. One of the pictures I do consider better than all the others, and I've made that our new profile picture. Maybe I'll do better during our next photo shoot!! (I do not see how professional photogs keep their cool when dealing with little ones...I was CRAZY trying to take good shots of my own children) Anyway, hope everybody is sporting their green today!!!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!

Having a BLAST playing outside

Another Birthday....

Warren's sister, Katie, celebrates a birthday today! Happy birthday, KK! Hope your day is wonderful! Be on the look out for your card in the mail. I hope it'll get to you today, but I wasn't able to mail it until yesterday afternoon. So, it may not get to you 'til tomorrow. We just wanted you to know that we're thinking 'bout ya today!

This isn't a recent picture, but it's the only one I had. I'm sure she's like me...takes LOTS of pictures of her baby and gets his daddy to be in them, but nobody turns the camera on her! I think there were probably about 10-15 pictures taken of me in the last year....and that's probably a generous number.

Anyway....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATIE!!!!
WE LOVE YOU!!!!!

Having a Ball

Reese thoroughly enjoyed playing outside the last couple of days. Warren's been off a couple of days this week, and we've been taking advantage of the FANTASTIC weather!!! I hope these temperatures get here and stay, but I know we'll most likely have another cold snap before spring really gets 'sprung.'

What a sweet mom I am...taking a picture of my baby as she is tripping out of the tire swing. She did hop back up and was not discouraged by the tumble. She kept right on playing!!!

We even turned on the bubble blowing machine while we were out playing. I think this last pic of Reese is great; I wasn't trying to get a shot like this--just turned out that way. Pretty good, if I do say so myself!!

I've got some more outside pics to post, but it'll have to wait. Gotta go pick up toys and find pjs for the girls to wear to bed. Just wanted to share some of our newest pictures.

Sweet Sugar

The babies really love giving sugar now, but we just haven't figured out how to get them to do with their mouths closed!!!

Sweet, though, isn't it? I'm sure they'll be totally unamused by this when they're 16! Horrors, I fear those days....three teenage girls in the house at one time!!! I foresee lots of turmoil!!!

May the force be with us!!! :)

Outside Fun

The girls (and we, for that matter) have absolutely LOVED the gorgeous weather and temperatures we have had at the beginning of the week. Warren fired up the grill a couple of nights so far, and we all had a ball outside playing while he was cooking! The twins recently got a new pair of New Balance tennis shoes, and they LOVE wearing them. They know that when we get ready to go that they have to have their tenny boppers on!! So cute to hear them yelling 'shoe' all through the house!

Maggie (in the white shirt) is most likely not going to be our adventurous child. Notice how she sticks pretty close to the ground, while Anna thinks she can climb up the slide just like big sissy does! She gets to a certain point then lies down and slides down backward on her tummy. I don't believe she enjoyed that one too much. Anna will even attempt to jump off our bed and into our arms, all the while saying 'one, two, free, weeee'. Maggie counts the same way, but instead of trying to leap into our arms, she eases down until she's almost sitting on the bed! I have been blessed with some funny lil' monkeys! It surprises me that Maggie seems kinda timid when it comes to things like that, considering the fact that she was the first one I discovered sitting in the middle of our dining table, chowing down on her fruit puffs.

I absolutely could eat these babies up! They are just too cute, and I love how they are really becoming aware of the world around them. Every single day there's something new to discover, and they get so excited about seeing new things too. Just love it!!!

Birthday Girl!!!

Sweet E at the twins' first birthday party last summer!

I cannot believe that she is turning 11 years old today. It seems as if she were born just yesterday. I remember thinking that she would NEVER get here. She kept us waiting for a while, but when she arrived, she was one of the most beautiful babies I had ever seen.....that is, until my own were born! :) She really is growing up to be a very sweet and kind young lady. I am very proud to be her 'Aunt B'! I really feel like she's my own rather than my niece.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ERIN! WE LOVE YOU AND WE HOPE YOUR DAY IS THE BEST!!!

**And, belated birthday wishes go out to Erin's dad, Brian. His birthday was yesterday!! Happy late b'day!!!
