Ear Piercing...Twin Style

About a week ago, we were in the mall here in town, walking around and killing some time. Well, we have a Clarie's in our tiny mall, and every time we pass it, Anna always asks about getting her ears pierced--every time we pass! Well, this particular day, two workers were in Clarie's, so we decided to give it a try.

no turning back now...

Now, knowing my kids like I do, I figured she'd chicken out. Well, not so fast...she climbed right up into that chair and patiently waited for the girls to get everything ready. The only thing this sweet baby did was flinch just a small bit at the sound the piercing 'guns' made as they were going in the ears. No tears, no screams, no nothing. The girl who was 'in charge' said that Anna was the first little girl who didn't cry when getting her ears pierced. That comment took her over the moon; she was so proud of herself for being so brave! I was, too!

Anna was beyond excited about her multi-colored daisy earrings

And good ol' Mags, the least girlie of our three, wanted her ears done, too. And like her sister, she climbed right in that chair as big as you please, excitement (and a little nervousness) shining on her face. She was fantastic; just like Anna, she only flinched at the sound the 'gun' made while going in her ears. No tears, no screaming, no hysterics (unlike their big sister--see next post).
the moment arrives for Mags...

Warren was definitely introduced to all things girlie that day since all three girls got their hair did, too! :) (post those pics later)

ta da! my brave look a like girls (Maggie & Anna)

Reese's Turn....

finally, calmed down enough and excited about getting her ears pierced like her sisters; if only she'd done it the previous hour with the twins. :)

Reese was by far the most difficult when it came to the whole ear piercing thing. Now, keep in mind, her two little sisters went before her and did not shed one tear or say anything that would let anyone know that the ear piercing was painful in anyway. Thinking that we could save some time
, we tried to convince Reese to get hers done right after the twins......well......let's just say that's when the breakdown occurred. Sh
e had worked herself into this frenzy of being t
errified that it was going to hurt. I mean, even after the two four year olds told her over and over that it didn't hurt, Reese couldn't be comforted or talked into it.
all ready for the big moment

So, we decided to walk around the mall for a bit, hoping that Reese would settle down and change her mind. During that time, we thought it'd be a good idea to go ahead and get the twins' haircut! I thought I could get Reese to get her ears done then, but to no avail. But, she did want her hair cut.

deep breaths....(she still has her squeezable baby face cheeks!)

And wouldn't you know it, while she was getting her hair cut, she calmed down and decided she wanted to get her ears pierced, too. Can you say difficult?!
the finished product....she was really excited (I was, too!)
