Lights, Camera, Action

Well, for those of you who have never seen/heard our twins in action, here's a little sample. They are playing in a bouncer that Reese got from her granparents for Christmas. They seem to love it as much as Reese does. It doubles as a play pen, too! :) Hope you enjoy!!! (PS Thanks to Conor for his video of his gorgeous babies. His video led me to the site to do this one! Thanks so much!)

Chillin' in the Pool!!

I got Reese (and Anna & Maggie) a small inflatable pool yesterday. There's no way for us to put in a "real" pool, and my big girl LOVES playing outside but it's so darn hot, I decided that a small pool was better than no pool! :) The babies were having a nap earlier this morning, so Reese and I took a little dip. I was shocked at how large this "little" pool really is and how much water it'll hold. I let the water run for what seemed like forever, and it still hadn't made it all the way up to the "fill here" line. Anyway, Reese had a great time. She loves a pool. And, she loved swimming in her new Dora swimsuit. I even enjoyed it myself. The cool water felt great out in the sweltering heat!! Reese had a GREAT time and we're heading back out a little later! :) I'm gonna try to get the babies in the pool, too, so I hope that goes well. Never tried doing anything like this with all three of them at once! :) I'll let you know how that goes. Posted by Picasa

Supervising....

This past Saturday, we finally got around to putting in the cabinet latches. I didn't really mind them playing in the kitchen cabinets--we have all the dangerous things, cleaning supplies, etc. on shelves in the laundry room. It kept them occupied and kinda out of trouble. Well, until they found the pantry. For some strange reason, they LOVE the pantry. They got into our boxes of pop tarts, the ones that Warren likes to eat before leaving for work, and the babies crumbled all of them! Poor Warren--no more breakfast! :) And...what's even stranger is that they are somewhat fascinated with our onions. I cannot tell you how many of our onions have been skinned thanks to the little chefs in training. Well, that was finally enough for both me and Warren and he got busy installing the latches. Maggie did her best to supervise, making sure Daddy did it just right! :) Once they were installed, we felt better about them playing in the kitchen, but they were not happy about it at all. The first time they tried to open the pantry and couldn't...well, tears were shed because they were so sad. Wish I had taken a picture of that! :) Posted by Picasa

We Made It to Our Date!

Well...Warren and I made it out the door for our date on Saturday night!!!!!! We were so excited and nervous since we'd never left all of our girls at the same time before with someone who wasn't family. But they all did great!!!

We woke up early (or early for us) to start cleaning the house. This place always looks like a tornado, or should I say tornadoes, strike on a daily basis. I always feel so bad that my house is always a mess, especially when my folks or Warren's folks come over or any company for that matter. But I feel better when people tell me, "There'll be plenty of time for a clean house when your babies are out of the house." That makes me feel better about the mess but sad at the same time when I think that the girls won't always be with me! :(

Anyway, during and after our house cleaning, we talked to Reese about how Brittany was coming over to play with her and the babies and that Mommy and Daddy were going to town by themselves for a little while. And, of course, her response was, "You always come back." That really almost broke my heart. She doesn't like to be aways from Mommy and Daddy for very long! ;) She seemed okay about it though.

Brittany got here around 7, and Reese hugged her the minute she came in the door. Warren and I went through the "list": phone numbers, what they can have as a snack, where we'd be, how long, etc. It was so STRANGE doing that. We do this even when the grans babysit, but it was weird doing it for someone we had just met. I told Reese bye and gave her a kiss, and that's when she started to get upset. I told her that I thought Brittany would like to see her pink room. While she was taking Brittany to her room, I sneaked out! Warren stayed in a few more minutes to reassure Reese that we would be home soon and to make sure that Brittany was okay with everything. Reese still wasn't really sure about the situation, so Warren took down one of our clocks and showed Reese what it would look like for the time when we'd be home. She moved the hands herself at that moment and looked at him and said, "Daddy, the clock move. You home now." Bless her sweet little heart! He calmed her down some more and away we went.

We were driving into town talking about how weird it felt to be doing something without the girls. We usually have at least one of them with us at all times. We were nervous about how they would be without us, especially Reese. We got to the restaurant and saw a ton of cars. We thought we were either going to have to wait forever or go somewhere else. But the wait wasn't that long and we decided to stay.

We got seated and ordered and just talked--mostly about the girls. I tried to be little more original and talk about something else, but Warren was so sweet in reminding me that the girls are our lives and that it was okay to talk so much about them! :) Aside from the fact that what I ordered to eat wasn't very good at all, I loved my evening out.

We even ran an errand to get our big girl a prize for doing so well while we were gone. She requested a Dora tree (something that Warren and I had never seen or heard of), but we found one. She even got a new Dora swimsuit--it's a little snug, but she has already worn it around the house for two days, so I don't think exchaning it it an option. Warren called Brittany to tell her we had to run that quick errand, and she told him that the girls were fine. He talked to Reese for a minute, and I could hear her a bit, and she sounded great. She asked Warren if she could talk to me and she told me that "Miss Brittany" was there and she was fine and that the clock was moving and I was home. Such a sweetie!

We got home and she ran to the door to greet us. She gave us the biggest hugs and was in such a good mood. When Brittany's mom came to pick her up, Reese got upset that she was leaving us! So.....all in all it was a very successful night! I think we've found us a babysitter!!! I told Warren that we should try to do a date night at least once a month, and now that we have Brittany, who knows, it may be more!!!! :)

Guess What!!?

This new post will most likely bore any and all who might read it, but I was excited about sharing this. Warren and I are having a date night on Saturday!!!!! Yea Us! This will be the first one for us since my birthday in January of last year before the babies were born. Long time, huh? But, Warren called me from work just a little while ago and "asked me out." I'm thinking--WRONG! I told him that there wasn't any way on earth that we can go--we have three children and no one scheduled to watch them. He told me that through wonderful, high recommendations from moms that he works with, he had found us a babysitter! Did he bother telling her that we have a VERY active three year old and one year old twins? Yes, he said, and he said that she (Brittany) sounded sweet and excited about coming.

I cannot help but be a little excited about this. I'm being careful not to get too excited because whenever we have gone out on a date in the past, we've always left Reese with grandparents, not any one she's never met before. I totally trust the women that have recommended Brittany and cannot wait to see how all of this might turn out. Hopefully we've found someone who can look after the kiddos on a "regular" basis. Say a prayer that we have. I would love to be able to go out with my hubby and not be totally worried about the girls. I mean, I'll worry because I won't be with them, but I know they'll be in good hands.

Warren told me that Brittany has had a babysitting training class and she knows CPR. (Don't know if that should scare me or reassure me--in case that procedure should be necessary). Brittany's mom is even going to bring her to our house and pick her up. I would have no problem at least taking her home after we get in (that's what a lot of folks did for me when I used to babysit--that is before I had my own car). That's the least we could do for her for helping us to have a night out. And it's great, especially since gas prices are so outrageous right now!

We have no idea what we want to do. This whole idea is kinda foreign to us, ya know? Warren says he wouldn't have a problem just going to take a two hour nap! :) Isn't he funny? I have no idea what to do--probably just go out to eat and maybe get a cup of coffee (even though he doesn't drink it, he knows I like to). I just want to have a good time just being "us" for a little while. I just hope Reese will be a good girl and actually let us go!

Stay tuned....I'll let you know if we actually make it out the door!!! :)

Reesie--What a Gal!

Had to post a newer shot of the big sister--can't leave her out. She is such a big girl. I was looking at some photo albums last night, one that has pictures from the day Anna & Maggie were born. It's amazing how much the babies have grown in a year, but Reese has done some major growing herself! Way to Go! She's my sweet girl! :) Posted by Picasa

Sweet Sleepy Anna

When I woke up Saturday morning, Maggie and Reese were already awake (and I think they had been for a few hours). I went into the babies room to get Mags, and I peeked in Anna's crib. The sight below is what I found. Guess all three girls had been awake for a while that morning, and since big sister knows she can't get in the cribs with the babies, she decided to give them their baby Elmos that GG, Mimi & Pop gave them for Easter. So sweet that Reese wanted to comfort them and how sweet is it that Anna's got her arm on Elmo. She and Maggie used to sleep like this when they shared a crib. Darling!!! :)

Maggie on The Move

Well, not quite yet. She has become a real PRO at getting herself into a standing position from a sitting one--no assistance of any kind required! Way to go Mags!!! And....this past weekend, she took several little steps on her own! She is getting more & more confident about letting go and trying to walk--and as soon as she gets the hang of it, I'm afraid she's going to be like her big sister was--RUNNING everywhere! :) Posted by Picasa

How Fabulous...

a full night's sleep is. :) Some backstory: Once we separated the babies in two cribs, the sleep schedule seemed to be back on track--until three or four days ago. And, it was sweet Anna again with the troubles. She had been running some fever for about a day and a half, and we think that was what was causing her to wake up so often. Since Warren's been working the last couple of days, I got up with her (which I absolutely don't mind doing at all). Anyway, I took her to the doctor yesterday to get her checked out (that is a story all by itself). We had kinda thought that her fever was being caused by an ear infection, so we wanted to get that checked out. How much easier would it have been if the doctor could have called in a 'scrip so that I wouldn't have had to make a crazy mad dash into town with all three girls. I understand why they have to examine the babies, but it would have been a ton easier, ya know? :) Turns out Anna Bean didn't/doesn't have an ear infection; doc said they're perfect. Dr. Sykes did say that she had been seeing several viral type cases and that all we needed to do was treat her fever. So, that's what we've been doing, although, now knowing it's viral--we're all likely to get it--what fun! :) But, Warren finally got Maggie settled last night around 10, and both girls slept until 10 this morning!!! Rock on!!! Just wish big sister would figure out that 8 am is a baaaaaaad thing! :) If she'd sleep 'til 9 or 10--how in hog heaven would I be? :)

We're Eleven Months Old...

As of yesterday! We go to the doctor next month for our year check up, so we'll have updated weights/lengths then! Can't believe it's been just about a year. (And Warren, Reese, the babies and I have ALL survived. We may be a little more insane than the average parent, but we all made it through the first year! Yea us!!!!

Last Ones...

The last ones from our mother's day photo shoot. I just felt like I had to give big sister equal time on the blog. She loves flowers (and like all kiddies, she thinks that dandelions are flowers), so she picked this one the other day. I love how she was trying to blow off the fluff. (I'm sure there's a scientific term for that, but I like calling it fluff!) I love her so!

This One is DEFINITELY a Keeper!

I know I'm going a little overboard with all the posts of pictures, but I HAD to put this one of Maggie on the site. Warren just kept snapping and got this one; isn't it wonderful? We're thinking about submitting it for American Baby or Parents magazines! :) I cannot get over how great this picture turned out--I don't even think Warren was trying to be "professional" about it, but it sure does look like he knew what he was doing. :) Posted by Picasa

A Little More Cooperative....

Maggie was a bit more cooperative--guess that's because her daddy was so close! :)

Anna's Had Enough...

...looks like she's finished with the picture taking. It was so much easier to shoot pictures of them when the babies weren't mobile! :)

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!

Just wanted to wish all the moms out there a very happy mother's day. Warren's working today, so I'll be spending it with my three favorite people! :) Wanted so badly to try to take them to church, but Anna & Maggie are still asleep and it's 9am here. Church is at 11. Don't think it's gonna happen, plus we had an interesting night last night, too, and I'm just too pooped to try to tackle this by myself today.
These pictures were taken the other day in hopes that we'd get a really good one to put into mother's day cards for the girls' grandmothers. We did finally get two good ones, although I don't think I put them on this collage. I think between me and Warren we must have taken about 50 that day! The way I figure, if we keep snapping, we'll eventually get one that looks good. The twins usually do pretty well about cooperating--it's the big girl that has other ideas. She wasn't very cooperative at all that day. I will post more of the pictures later.

God bless all you mommies out there! I truly love this wonderful job that God has given me. Even though my girls can be a handful, they give me so much love and joy--in amounts that I could never have imagined! I am a very blessed lady to have such a wonderful family. Gotta run! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!! Posted by Picasa

What's In Store....

With the exciting news that Jenny's expecting twins and through keeping up with our blog friends, Conor & Gen, in California who are expecting QUADRUPLETS anyday, I thought I'd post these pictures. Warren did the grocery shopping yesterday with Reese, so he got a feel of what it's like not only shopping for five people but also what it's like taking the three year old along for the trip! :) Don't think he's gonna do it again anytime soon! :) Anyway, as I was putting away everything, I was (and always am) shocked by the amount of baby food and formula we go through. I thought buying it for Reese was always bad, but multiply by two (and for Conor & Gen by four), well, all I have to say is WOW! We should buy stock in Gerber and DelMonte! Just thought this was a funny picture to share! I so badly want to get the babies to do more eating "real food," but they just don't seem ready. When Reese was as old as they are, she was eating deli ham and rotini noodles and cereal bars. But, I keep reminding myself that all babies develop differently and everything will happen in its own time. And Warren reminded me yesterday that Reese had TONS of teeth by the time she turned one! Anna & Maggie have the front four teeth on the top but only the two front on the bottom, so I don't think they're ready to do any heavy chewing! :) They'll get there though. I know they'll love their first birthday cake next month--it's soft and nothing but sugar! So, for those of you who've ever wondered about buying food for multiples--here's a peek!

Lil' Monkey Swinging

I told Reese she looked like a little monkey while she was swinging on DamDam's counter! I wish you could see her dress--a happy from DamDam! It is darling--of course, I think everything she wears looks great on her! Maybe we'll wear it to church tomorrow & maybe she'll let me take her picture. I'm sure all my children are going to be blind from all the pictures I take of them! :)

Can We Share?

I just love all these pictures of Anna and Hunter "sharing" crackers. Especially love the third one on the top row--it really does look like they're sharing. Too cute and too sweet! Maggie makes her appearace in a few--can't be left out! :) Posted by Picasa

Like Herding Cats....

We all thought it would be nice for Warren's folks to have a picture of all their grandchildren. We don't get together too much, so we tried to take advantage of the situation. However, the kiddos had their own ideas. Wonder if we'll ever have a picture of the four of them together! :) I really didn't want to be in the picture, but we had to stay close to reel them back in! :)
