Well. . .we are the official owners of our new house!!!!!!! :) We had our closing today at 2 pm, and everything went very, very smoothly. The current owners seem to be very nice, down to earth people. I liked them a lot. Too bad we weren't able to really get to know them during this process. Anyway, we drove by the house Saturday night, and it looked like they hadn't done a whole lot of moving, but everything is out of the house now. I can't believe they did it all so quickly. They're even going to have the carpets steam cleaned for us! They wanted to do it today, but they thought we were moving in, and it wouldn't have been a good idea for us to move in on freshly cleaned, wet carpet. So, they said they'd be in touch about scheduling something and they're going to pay for it! Isn't that amazing. They have just been wonderful people to work with. (They even tried giving us their dog) :)
And. . .our realtor even had a little surprise for us in the folder she brought to closing. She had this big blue folder ready to put our copies of all of the paperwork in. She told Warren (while I was at school picking up Maggie & Anna) that we had a happy in the bottom of our folder. Once we got through everything, we found a gift certificate to Lowe's! Jamie, our realtor, is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. This will help us make the house our own.
I just wanted to give you the update. We probably won't officially be living in the new house until the end of the month. With Warren working 12 hours days and me keeping up with all the girls, we're gonna have to pick and choose our days to move. But, we'll get there! You'll have to come visit us once we do get settled.
Even though we had a lot of great news today with the house becoming ours, it has also been a little bittersweet for me. Seven years ago today my gran (my mom's dad) passed away. I was really close to him, and I miss him so much. I know that he was with us today (and everyday) and I hope he's proud of us. This day just brings back lots of memories, good and very sad. My gran was the most awesome person in the whole world. He was always willing to help anyone in any way that he could. He was very giving of his time and himself. Kinda rare a find these days. He was the best. He loved us so much and I hope he knows how much I love him, too. I wish that he were here to see Reese, Anna, and Maggie. If there's anyone who could figure out how to maneuver while holding both babies at once, it'd be him. He absolutely loved babies. He wouldn't want one baby to feel left out, so he'd figure out a way to hold both of them. Part of me knows that he's seen them though, even before I knew them!
PS...I wrote in another post about some playground equipment in the backyard. . .well it IS STAYING!!! YEA!!!!!!!
